About Jetstream MX
Jetstream MX provides Aircraft on Ground (AOG) support for private, charter, and corporate operators. Our mission is simple: minimize downtime and keep aircraft flying safely by delivering exceptional maintenance and repair services when they’re needed most.
Role Overview
We’re seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) to support Jetstream MX on a contract / project-by-project (1099) basis. Sikorsky Memorial Airport (BDR) in Stratford, CT serves as our hub; contractors are expected to dispatch and travel to wherever the job is located. You’ll perform inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance across a diverse fleet, working under pressure in time-critical environment.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair non-scheduled maintenance discrepancies; complete all return-to-service (RTS) paperwork.
- Maintain on-call readiness and deploy rapidly to assignments; provide AOG recovery support.
- Coordinate with Management and the aircraft owner.
- Perform other duties as directed by Management, adhering to safety and quality standards.
- RTS/Logbook & Docs: submitted at RTS.
Qualifications
- FAA A&P Certificate (required)
- Proven experience in aircraft maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting
- Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical data
- Effective written and verbal communication; able to work independently and with flight/ops teams
- Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays as AOG needs arise
- Ability to travel (car/air), including overnight or multi-night trips; typical coverage includes: HPN, KBDR (Hub), KAFJ, KBDL, KBED, KBLM, KBOS, KHVN, KHYA, KISP, KMHT, KOQU, KPHL, KTEB, TTN
Preferred Experience
- 3 years of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience
- Experience supporting Part 91 and/or Part 135 operations. Strong defect isolation skills; practical hydraulics, pneumatics, avionics/electrical troubleshooting; schematic proficiency

Compensation (Contract/1099)
AOG Premium: Holiday work may include an AOG premium (or higher tier within the range).
Tools & Travel
- Mechanic-Provided: Standard hand tools.
- Company/Client Provided: Calibrated/specialty tooling as needed (e.g., torque, test sets), consumables as authorized, and safety equipment specific to task/aircraft.
Physical & Work Requirements
- Lift up to 70 lbs
- Routine bending, walking, and standing for extended periods
- Work in confined spaces and at heights with appropriate safety gear
- Operate in indoor hangars and outdoor environments during aircraft operations
- Must meet airport badging/security requirements; valid driver’s license
